Dr. Wei Shi-Lun currently acts as the Deputy Director-General of the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare (HPA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in public health, a master’s degree in health policy and management, and Ph. D in health policy and management, all from National Taiwan University.
Dr. Wei has an extensive experience in the public health sector. Her public servant career began at National Health Insurance Administration, then moved to the Department of Medical Affairs, and helped formulate Second-Generation Health Insurance. She later served as a Senior Executive Officer and Director at the National Health Insurance Committee, then the Hospital and Social Welfare Organization Administration Commission, and finally the Deputy Director of the Department of Planning before joining the HPA.
The HPA is entrusted to promote the health of all citizens across their lifespans. It coordinates local governments, medical institutions, and civic organizations to integrate resources and form partnerships in converting health knowledge and findings into applicable practices to improve people’s health and well-being. Under the Director General’s leadership, Dr. Wei oversees the planning and implementation of the HPA’s various policies and projects to ensure their alignment with the national policy goals.
