The Global Health Workforce Network (GWHN) Youth Hub is an interdisciplinary community of practice, organized by the Health Workforce Department at the World Health Organization (WHO).

The project serves as a follow-up initiative to the 2024 Annual Online Conference “UHC Global Youth Map: Health for All.” It encourages youth to integrate conference learning with their experiences and collaborate internationally. The event enhances youth’s negotiation and cooperation abilities for achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Modeled after the World Health Assembly (WHA), the simulation offers insights into WHA processes, enabling participants to develop diplomatic skills through role-playing as representatives from Member States, engaging in debates, and striving for consensus.

Applicant Eligibility

• Young individuals aged 20-25 interested and passionate about global health governance, UHC, and Health for All
• Fully conducted online
• No cost nor travel required for participation

Program Information

Training Sessions

• Starting March 15th, 2024, lasting five weeks
• 1-2 sessions per week, 1-2 hours per session
• Lectures on WHA structure, rules, resolution drafting, and negotiation strategies.
• At least 80% of attendance is required to obtain the certificate of participation

Requirement

• Submit a conference paper on Universal Health Coverage (UHC)
• The paper should outline actions and barriers encountered in the designated Member State or region

Model WHA

• Scheduled on April 12-14, 2024
• Attendance is mandatory throughout all three days
• Awards for the Best Delegate and the Best Conference Paper

活動內容

培訓課程

• 預定從2024年3月15日起，為期五週
• 每週1至2次、每次1-2小時
• 課程包含世界衛生大會(WHA) 的組織架構、會議程序與規則、決議起草、談判策略等
• 出席率需達80%以上才能獲得參與證明

會議報告

• 提交一份詳細介紹全民健康覆蓋(UHC)的報告
• 概述特定成員國或地區遇到的挑戰以及政策建議等

模擬世界衛生大會 (Model WHA)

• 定於2024年4月12-14日，為期三天
• 模擬會議期間必須全程出席
• 會後將頒發傑出青年代表及最佳會議報告獎
